This month we added new plugins to DPMedia, DPCalendar and stabilize DPAttachments. Under the hood we upgraded some libraries to make the extensions faster, more stable and added new options to adapt them perfectly to the needs of your web site.
Continuing our proven release strategy, as it is the fourth Thursday in month, we ship some new features in DPMedia, DPCalendar and bugfixes in DPAttachments. The following new feature/patch releases are published today for you:
The next chapters do highlight some of the most important changes.
DPMedia: New Smugmug plugin
Smugmug is an image service where professional photographers can organize and sell their photos. So it is obvious that Joomla should get an integration of it in the core media manager. Through their excellent API it is possible to integrate your pictures easily into the core Joomla media manager without the hassle to deal with the API. The plugin offers the same features as the others from DPMedia like caching, automatic resize or local images, where the image is served from your web server instead directly from Smugmug (to improve the privacy of your site).
Want to know how to get started? All information can be found in the docs articles of the Smugmug plugin.
DPMedia: New task plugin
The task plugin offers a new sync task with your local media. When the media data is served from the local web server instead of from the remote image service like Google Drive or Dropbox, then the media is copied, when selected in the article, to the local web server. When in the meantime the image changes on Dropbox, then the old image is still shown on your web site. The scheduler sync task is able to sync the files which are copied from your remote storage to the local web server on a regular basis.
More information can be found in the docs articles of the scheduler task plugin.
DPMedia: Restrict media custom field to specific type
The core media custom field got a new option to restrict it to certain media types. As default, a media custom fields shows only images. With this new option it is able to show only documents, audio or video files. What belongs to each category can be configured in the global Media Manager options.
To have this option available, the content plugin needs to be enabled. More information can be found in the docs articles of the content plugin.
DPCalendar: New Zoho plugin
Zoho is a widely used service which offers a full business suite with CRM, event management and EMail applications. To bring the event service to Joomla, we developed a new Zoho calendar integration plugin which integrates your Zoho events into Joomla. It is a two way sync plugin, means you can creeate, update and delete the events from within Joomla, the same way as you are used to with the native events.
Beside that offers the plugin optimized caching feature for best performance and using the secure OAuth 2 authorization service to protect your Zoho account and not loosing any flexibility.
More information can be found in the docs articles of the Zoho calendar plugin.
DPCalendar: New options in manual payment plugin
The logic of offline payment plugins like the manual or QR code plugin got changed in the recent release slightly. Since DPCalendar 8.7.0 are these plugin sending their own invoices and the one from the DPCalendar is now a receipt, which reflects better what it actually is. As some web sites do have different use cases for the payment process, we are eager to provide as much flexibility as possible with these plugins. So we added two new options in this release.
Turn off sending invoices
In both plugins the admin can turn off sending invoices per payment provider configuration.
Define the payment date span
In both plugins the admin can define a custom payment span instead of the default of 30 days per payment provider configuration.
More information can be found in the docs articles of the manual payment plugin.
Bugfixes
We are eager to improve our extensions on a regular basis. That's why every major/feature release does contain also bug fixes and small enhancements as well to improve the stability and performance.
DPAttachments got this time only bug fixes, that's why this is a patch release. A full changelog is added in the respective download release description on our download site.
Upgrade considerations
Updating to DPCalendar, DPMedia and DPAttachments is straight forward as no layouts are changed which can lead to upgrade issues.
