The task plugin offers the possibility to run the notification and closing action as a scheduled task within Joomla core.
Open the task scheduler in the back end and create a task "DPCases Notifications" task. Set as "Execution Rule" as interval days and let it run once every day, preferably somewhere in the night.
When the task is executed, it checks for cases which are in categories with a closing and notification date. When a case has a modification date which is on the relative closing or notification date of the category, then it either will be closed or a notification mail is sent out. The mail has the language string "COM_DPCASES_NOTIFICATION_CASE_SUBJECT" and "COM_DPCASES_NOTIFICATION_CASE_CONFIRM_ACTION" when the admin wants to change the text.
If a staff group is set in the DPCases component options, then the last modification user must be from that staff group.
