The dashboard of GAnalytics gives you a quick overview over your google analytics statistics. It is highly customizable and based on widgets which you can configure to your needs. It comes preconfigured with some of the most important statistics of your site.

In the header of the dashboard you can select a google analytics profile if you have more than one imported. The date fields allow to browse the histroy of your statistics.

Widget group

You can group your widgets to groups. The groups are represented as tabs. You can add and remove the groups. All attached widgets will be deleted as well. A group contains columns where widgets belong to. In the header part of the column are buttons located to remove and add columns and add widgets. In the image on the right side is the header part of a column highlighted.

A widget represents google analytics statistics as charts (PRO version) or lists (FREE and PRO version). When you click on the gear icon in the widget header bar the settings of a widget will be shown.

The two main settings are the dimensions and the metrics. In the introduction chapter is described what a dimension and metric is.

The sort setting defines the ordering of the statistics. For example -ga:visits defines that the resulting rows are order in descending order of the visits.

The max results parameter defines the amount of entries which will be shown. If there is a date range defined the result set will contain only the amount of results between this date range when it is a date dimension. For example when the dimension is ga:date and the date range is 20 days but the max results parameter is 500 only 20 results will be shown.

Filters restrict data returned by google analytics. Basically a filter looks like ga:city==Paris, here is the full documentation about the possible filter options.

The type parameter can be a chart (PRO only) or list.

The reset button allows to reset the whole dashboard to it's original state.
