Introduction

Categories do group cases and are organized in an hierarchical way. They contain additional parameters like a due date or closing time frame.

Category attributes

All categories have the following attributes that can be modified:

• Title
  A short description of the category.
• Alias
  Must be unique in Joomla and is needed to create SEF urls. As default, the alias is created in a proper url format from the title.
• Parent
  The parent of the category.
• Description
  The description of the category.

Options

The options tab of a category does contain some special DPCases attributes beside the default ones from an ordinary Joomla core category.

• Due date
  The date when all cases within the category will be solved. Is useful when you work with deadlines.
• Default responsible
  When a new case is created, this value defines the default responsible user.
• Confirmation days
  The amount of days when, there was no answer from the creator of the case, an E-Mail should be sent to confirm that the case will be closed soon.
• Close days
  After a first confirmation was sent and there is still no activity the case will be closed after this amount of days (it is the relative amount of days since the confirmation mail was sent).
