Introduction

Installing DPMedia is easy as one-two-three. You can use the core installer as with any other Joomla extension. DPMedia itself is bundled as installable package when downloaded. Means that there are no other tasks required after download.

Upgrades of DPMedia can be installed through the Joomla extension manager as well. The upgrade will be handled by DPMedia itself. Additionally DPMedia supports Joomla's built in one click updater. If you are using a commercial version you need to add the download ID to the update site options for the core package.

Download

1. Download the latest version of the DPMedia from here, to your chosen location on your hard drive (for example, Program Files).
2. Go to your Joomla backend administration area and navigate to Extensions -> Manage -> Install.
3. Open the tab Upload Package File and select the downloaded zip file.

Locate your Download ID

1. Log into your account on the Digital Peak website joomla.digital-peak.com.
2. Open the Download ID menu item. You can now see your Download ID(s).
3. Copy the Download ID, you want to use, to the clipboard.

Put the Download ID into your website

1. Open your website backend and go to your DPMedia update site and open the edit form. Updates sites can be managed on this link "/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=updatesites".
2. In the edit form of your update site you can paste your Download ID into the corresponding field.

Managing multiple DPMedia installations

Some users with only one website can use the main download ID from the joomla.digital-peak website. If you manage several websites you my not want to use your main download ID everywhere. In this case you can create a Download ID for each site you manage. This allows you to control every DPMedia installation in one place. To create an additional ID, click the New button in the Download ID menu item. Create a short description (maybe the website you will use). Save. You should now have a new Download ID.
